Two X-29As were built, and were used for testing from 1984 to 1992. Aircraft #2, X-29A #049, is on display near the NASA Dryden parking lot with several other static displays. Aircraft #1, X-29A #003, is on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. The last two photos show X-29 #003 dramatically displayed in the Modern Flight Hangar of the USAF Museum, but was moved to the Research and Development Hangar in 2003 as a part of the museum's continued pursuit of consistency and chronology.
