SR-71A #61-7963 is on static display at Beale AFB, CA (home of the 9th SRW and former home of the SR-71) near the flight line. Assembly of this aircraft started on 16 March 1965 and it first flew on 9 June 1966. This aircraft last flew on 28 October 1976, and was cannibalized for parts to serve the rest of the SR-71 fleet after accumulating 1604.4 flight hours.

SR-71A #963 sits on a concrete pad shaped and painted like the Mach 3+ patches worn by SR-71 crews. It sits beside a D-21 Drone on a pad that is similarly constructed, although it is not modeled after any known patch from the TAGBOARD program.
